The strength of OhioASCD is its flexibility and willingness to maintain a future-focused philosophy toward its work. A significant highlight of the affiliate is embodied in the comprehensive OhioASCD Handbook, which encompasses not only governance and policy, but establishes a foundation of consistency in excellence.
- Through a recent comprehensive survey of membership demographics and needs, OhioASCD collected the necessary information to enhance member benefits in the future.
- Successful application of Influence Grants enabled OhioASCD to plan and execute the formation of a Leadership Council to conduct a Day on the Hill event, complete with Legislative Simulation and a workshop to develop effectiveness skills on the Hill.
- Utilization of ASCD Worldwide resources through Urban Outreach Grants has enabled OhioASCD to partner with the Ohio Alliance of Black School Educators (OABSE).
- Through board meetings, the OhioASCD consistently and effectively coordinates committee work in order to meet the goals of the detailed and comprehensive Strategic Plan.
- OhioASCD retains a strong stewardship with the solid administration and operations, impressive financial integrity, and notable internal organization.
- Through strategic use of evaluations, OhioASCD is continually monitoring programs and conferences to identify perceived value and improve in the future.
- OhioASCD consistently gathers and maintains significant amounts of data to demonstrate evidence-based impact statewide.
Our Vision
The Ohio Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development is a major force in the continuous improvement of curriculum and instruction for all educators in the State of Ohio. Focusing on increased academic achievement for all students, the Association provides quality professional development opportunities for teachers, administrators, and others through publications, proactive stance on educational issues and professional conferences, as well as, links to and collaboration with other organizations.
Our Goals
Together with you, our members, OhioASCD is working to:
- Address the evolving needs of diverse educators to ensure the success of every learner
- Advocate sound equitable policy and practices for every learner
- Link educators and the larger community to research-based programs, products, and services that support best practices in learning, teaching, and leadership;
- Continuously improve its financial operational effectiveness to deliver value to its constituents.
